Foresight Shopping is operated by Foresight Intelligence, the data controller for the limited personal data described here.

No account, no tracking cookies

You do not need an account to use this site and we do not set advertising or analytics cookies. There is no cross-site tracking and no profile is built about you.

What we record

When you follow a link to a retailer we record that the click happened, which product it was for, the browser’s user agent, and the page you came from. We do not store your IP address. Instead it is combined with your user agent and the current date and turned into a one-way hash, which lets us count unique visits for a single day and nothing beyond it. The hash changes every day and cannot be reversed back to you.

We use these counts to tell retailers how many people viewed their listings, and to spot automated traffic. Click records are kept for up to 24 months.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs for security and diagnostics, in line with their own retention policy.

When you leave the site

Once you reach a retailer’s website, that retailer’s own privacy policy applies. We have no control over what they collect.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection. Because we deliberately hold no identifier that can be traced back to an individual, we are usually unable to locate records relating to a specific person.
